I have been a member of St. Mary of the Falls my entire life, and it is truly a home to me. I went through grade school at St. Mary, and it helped me to form a good faith foundation. St. Mary of the Falls prepared me well for St. Ignatius High School, and now, seminary formation. At a young age, I developed a deeper relationship with and understanding of God through my Catholic education, but I didn’t begin thinking about Priesthood until my freshman year of high school. I became very involved in our parish’s Life Teen program and began to take my faith more seriously. I’m blessed to have many other brother seminarians at St. Mary because it was through them that the idea of seminary came to my prayer. These men served as great role models for me and made me think, “maybe I’m called to this as well.” With much prayer throughout high school, I decided that the next step in my discernment process was to enter the seminary. After two years of formation at Borromeo Seminary, I was accepted into the Basselin Scholars program through Theological College at The Catholic University of America. I am in my final year studying philosophy through the Basselin program in Washington, D.C. This year, I'm looking forward to finishing my licentiate degree in philosophy, and I’m excited to return to our seminary in Cleveland for theological studies after that.
Jeremy lives near in Olmsted Township, with his three sisters, Megan, Mackenzie, and Caitlyn and his parents Kimberly and Christopher. He graduated from St. Mary of the Falls Grade School and then from St. Ignatius High School in 2018. Jeremy has been very involved in Life Teen throughout his years in high school, and tries to maintain a presence to this day. He has also been an altar server and lector at the 6PM Mass. He is very excited to continue his time in the seminary and is loving the community and friendships he has discovered there. Please pray for Jeremy as he continues his formation in the seminary.
On August 12, 2020, I began my 2nd year of Candidacy for the Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Cleveland. This year Carolyn and I will continue going to class 2 days a week and I will continue my field education at St. Mary in Berea. The past 2 years have seemed to fly by and my wife and I are enjoying the whole experience. We were looking forward to the summer break and being able to return home to SMOF for a few months. Unfortunately, the pandemic situation has limited our ability to interact with all the parishioners here that we have missed seeing each week. Please continue to pray for us as we enter into another phase on this exciting journey, and we will continue to pray for all the wonderful people here at St. Mary of the Falls. We look forward to seeing you every chance we get. May God bless you and keep you in His peace.
